In the past few days I have seen a lot of post on the YouTube channel describing the making of the Nexus one.

Since today Google has posted 5 videos:

  • Concept and Design
  • Display and 3D Framework
  • Testing
  • Manufacturing
  • Day One

Here is the first video on Concept and Design

These are all fine shooted videos and it is quite clear there has been a lot of post production.

It is the very first time that I see something like this being published even if, it is not new at all.

Everybody involved in Product Development for a mobile operator or a mobile phone manufacturer knows very well that these steps are very common to any product being developed.

On our side we do pretty much the same on every MomoDesign product we design and bring to the market.

I think that this video may also help to understand that the value of the product is not only determined by the BOM (Bill of Materials) but also from a number of different factor such as:

  • Research and Development
  • Industrial Design
  • Software development
  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • Operations

and so on.
